As per my experience, Playa de Formentor is the best beach in Mallorca Island, as it has the cleanest waters, a spectacular backdrop of the Tramuntana Mountains, and natural shade of pine trees, along with various water sports and basic facilities.
However, there are more beaches that one can explore if Playa de Formentor is not enough for you.
1. Playa de Formentor
Playa de Formentor is one of the best beaches I’ve ever visited. The color of the waters, the backdrop of the Tramuntana mountains, white sand, and pine forests, my eyes were baffled about which scene to behold first.
Children playing in the calm water, people enjoying the food in the restaurants, I felt a great sense of enjoyment as well as peace here.
The only bad part about this blue-flag beach was the high parking fees, $20 per day, which came as an absolute shock to me.

2. Cala Mesquida
Of course, this northeastern coast beach has to be on the list. I had the most amazing snorkeling experience here, and you have to try it if you ever visit the beach.
Although the beach is somewhat small and has limited facilities, don’t be skeptical; trust me, it has a great vibe. You’ll also notice a striking contrast between the wild, natural, and developed areas of the beach.
According to the locals, the beach is especially popular among the Germans and British and is a great spot for families.

3. Cala Llombards
Hidden down in Mallorca’s southeast, this small beach is perfect if you are sticking to that side of the island.
Cala Llombards pops up all over social media, and you’ll see why once you get there. Colorful fishermen’s huts with carved boathouses give the beach a unique experience. Families flock here. The water’s gentle, so kids can play safely.
There’s no public transport, though. That helps keep things low-key—locals come to relax, and it never gets too crowded.

For a good amount of time, Calo des Moro was hidden from the eyes of the public, but now this is one of the most crowded beaches of Spain in summer.
This tiny beach is a beautiful home to varied scenery, including the Ses Salines Natural Park, turquoise water, pine trees, and various plants and shrubs.
However, crossing a dirty path on foot to finally reach the beach might be a turn-off for some people, but honestly, I also enjoyed that.

5. Alcudia Beach
Playa de Alcudia is one of the biggest, about 7 km, and best beaches in Mallorca island, situated in the northern region of the island.
The beach offers a range of facilities, including a play area for kids, showers, changing rooms, a variety of water sports, and gym equipment, among others.
I didn’t have to go outside to eat, as the beach had so many restaurants and bars. Stretched over 3.5 km, the beach attracts people from all age groups.

6. Cala Agulla
Personally, I felt Cala Agulla, located within the Llevant Peninsula Natural Park, was one of the prettiest and best beaches in Mallorca island. The clean waters and mesmerizing landscape were a testament to its beauty.
One thing at this beach is guaranteed: unlimited fun, as it offers tons of water activities, including paddle boats, kayaks, and stand-up paddleboarding.
Besides, the beach is one of the cleanest on the island, making it a blue flag beach, and you can also find some restaurants and bars here to fuel up.

Someone said beauty, and I heard Es Trenc beach. The Caribbean blue waters, bright white sand, and soft chirping of birds provided a sense of peace inside me. Also, there are salt flats near the beach where traditional salt is harvested and sold.
If you are also a nature lover, Es Trenc is a must-visit for you. Usually, the beach has a peaceful vibe, which gets disrupted in the summer due to large crowds.
But I personally suggest you bring your own food and water to the beach, as there are limited options here to calm your hunger.

Cala Mondragó is a blue flag beach in the southeast of Mallorca Island, which was declared a natural park in 1992 to protect it from commercial development.
You can enjoy the view of clean blue water, Posidonia oceanica seagrass meadows, and a diverse flora and fauna species. The beach offers limited water sports, keeping it peaceful majority of the year.
Also, the calm demeanour of the beach makes it a perfect spot for relaxation and personal and professional photography.

Cala Pi is a popular choice among people who just want to relax and have a good sunbath. Although earliest, the beach, resembling a fjord, is away from too much human intervention and is usually quiet.
I was amazed by the view of the cliffs surrounding a beach, as if they were protecting it.
Even with its remote location, the beach is highly popular among tourists and locals for its peaceful vibe and splendid views.

Cala s’Almunia, a beautiful rocky sandy beach with an old jetty, has to my one of my favorites. If you also love jumping into the sea from rocks, you have to visit this beach once.
Although reaching this beach is not easy, as it involves a rocky staircase, what’s the fun without adventure, right?
The natural beauty of this beach will literally blow your mind away, and you can also enjoy water sports like swimming or snorkeling.

I had the best kayaking experience here; the views were absolutely stunning. This white sand beach with crystal clear waters is the second largest beach, followed by Alcudia beach.
You’ll notice a striking contrast between the beach’s developed eastern and natural western portions of the beach protected by S’Albufera Natural Park.
This blue flag beach is perfect if you are visiting with a large family, or even with your circle.

Playa del Puerto de Pollensa is such a stunning blue flag beach, located near the town of Pollensa, north of Mallorca.
I actually stayed nearby for a few days so that I could visit this beach daily and enjoy the pine walk.
This beach has it all; you just have to name it. Hungry? The beach has enough restaurants. Want a picnic? The beach has a shaded area. In the mood for adventure? Tons of water sports are available on the beach.

I was literally stunned at how such a small beach can be this pretty. Cala Deià, a tiny rocky cove, walled by the huge Tramuntana Mountains, has to be on your bucket list.
Although the beach has only two restaurants, I had some of the best seafood of my life at Ca’s Patro March restaurant here.
You can enjoy some water sports here, like snorkeling, swimming, and diving, or just walk around the beach, like me, and admire its beauty.

Sa Calobra actually consists of two turquoise bays – Cala Sa Calobra and Torrent de Pareis—separated by a river gorge. The beaches are nestled between two cliffs, forming a beautiful landscape.
Although I had to cross a rocky path, a tunnel just to reach here, it was all worth it.
As there were no water spots, I relaxed, had a good swim, and clicked some pictures for my Instagram here.

What an absolutely stunning beach! Cala Millor, a blue flag beach on the east coast of Mallorca, literally took my heart away.
I had a perfect family holiday here and highly recommend this beach to anyone coming with their families.

Cala Santanyí has to be on my list of the best beaches in Mallorca island. The water at this beach is so clean that you can actually see your face.
Located near the town of Santanyí, this small beach is a picturesque bay surrounded by beautiful landscapes.
The peaceful vibe of the beach actually slowed me down, and I spent hours just relaxing without even realizing the time.

The moment I arrived here, I realized Cala Figuera is not just a beach; it’s a fishing port. An ideal place for fish lovers, this place has restaurants offering delicacies made of fresh fish.
Locals told me, this place has great historical significance and was famous nationwide for its unique sandstone.
The beautifully lined-up houses of fishermen with green shutters and clean, turquoise water create a stunning view.

18. Playa de Palma
Playa de Palma is probably the most buzzing beach I’ve ever been to. The beach awakes at night, with crowds of young people talking, laughing, and partying.
I think the beach was approximately 6-7 km long, as my eyes could see water as far as they could.
I savored some of the most delicious foods at the restaurants on the beach and enjoyed the high-key vibe of the place.

19. Cala Varques
After Playa de Palma, I visited Cala Varques, which was in complete contrast to the former. The low-key vibe, peaceful environment, and scenic beauty relaxed my mind and soul.
But I must tell you, reaching there wasn’t easy, as I had to walk for about 20 minutes through the rocky path to finally arrive at the place.
You’ll also find vendors selling handmade stuff here, such as jewelry and souvenirs.

20. Cala Banyalbufar
I spent a lazy afternoon chilling at this narrow beach, completely lost in its serenity. But you can also enjoy various water activities here, like swimming or snorkeling.
Reaching here was fun in itself, the cool breeze, astonishing views, and my eyes were blessed with the scenery.
If you are also a peace lover, you should definitely visit this rocky cove.

Another beach, which is surrounded by mountains, absolutely blew my mind away with its beauty, so obviously I had to include it in the list of the best beaches in Mallorca island.

But let me tell you, swimming and snorkeling are the only water sports available at the beach, and people mainly come here to relax and escape from their mundane routine.

The transport connectivity of Mallorca Island really impressed me, with ferries available from all the major islands of Spain. First, you have to reach Palma de Mallorca airport. After reaching the airport, which is just 8 km away from the capital of Mallorca, Palma, you have two options to get around the island.
- By Rented Cars – I traveled from beach to beach via a rented car and personally believe this is the better option, as it gives more control and free will.
- By Ferry – As mentioned above, with the availability of ferries, Mallorca has great transport connectivity, so you can also consider taking a ferry if you are coming from nearby islands or cities such as Barcelona or Valencia.
What is the Ideal Time to Visit Mallorca Beaches?
Well, the ideal time to visit Mallorca depends on your purpose of visit. If you are like me and hate crowds, then you should visit on warm days, from April to June or September to October.
But if you want to witness the nightlife on the beaches, then I highly suggest you visit in the months of June-August.
Other than that, November to March is also a good time to visit Mallorca for various outdoor adventurous activities, such as hiking and exploring the place.
