1. Everyone’s Favourite – Dreamland Beach

If you’re wondering why I’ve mentioned it as everyone’s favourite, read this and get your answers!

Dreamland Beach, also known as New Kuta Beach, is hands down the best white-sand beach in Bali, widely renowned for the surfing activities at almost half the price of most of the town. Visitors come here to enjoy the beach, catch waves, watch the pleasing sunset hues, and roam around to have the time of their lives.

As the name hints at, Dreamland Beach is truly a dream come true for all the surfers, topped up with the white sand expanse afterwards to relax and chill.

2. Padang Padang (Thomas Beach)

Padang Padang Beach is renowned for its world-class surfing experience, but it also means that the beach is crowded during the dry season, i.e., summer. The rock formations at the beach are intriguing and keep those who fear water occupied in exploration activities.

3. Cemongkak Beach

It is a little tricky to reach Semongkak Uluwatu Beach, but just as rewarding, thanks to the views, the reflective water, and the vibrant marine life. I got the peace I had long needed but didn’t realize, and it soon turned out to be one of the best beaches in Uluwatu. If you love a crowd-free, quiet time by the beach, this is the place to go!

4. Bingin Beach

I walked to Bingin Beach after visiting the Uluwatu Temple, which was barely 10 minutes away. The walk to the beach is just as steep as for the Semongkak, since they’re right beside each other. While visiting Uluwatu Beach, you can walk along the sand to explore Dreamland Beach and Semongkak Beach.

5. Suluban Beach (Blue Point Beach)  

Suluban Beach is perfect for surfing with the waves, as it is appropriately windy. The caves and huge rocks make it an interesting place for kids to wander around and explore. However, one thing that you must be ready for on almost all Uluwatu beaches, but especially the ones near the Uluwatu Temple, is interacting with the long-tailed macaques. 

Entry Fees: There are no charges for entry; however, a parking fee of 5,000 IDR for a motorbike and 15,000 IDR for a car will be charged.

6. Nyang Nyang Beach

Nyang Nyang is one of the hardest beaches to reach in Uluwatu, Bali. There are 2 ways to reach this beach: one is through the Uluwatu Hotel, and the other is through the road leading there, which is a treacherous path followed by 600 steps down the cliff. Upon reaching, you will be welcomed by pristine white sand and possibly surfers, as this is the only beach that has consistent waves throughout the year.

Entry Fees: There is no fee for entry to the beach, although 5000 IDR is charged for access to the parking.

7. Melasti Beach

Melasti Beach is one of the popular destinations to visit if you’re in Uluwatu, one of the kinds that you can’t miss if you’re someone like me who loves being a water baby.

This beach is single-handedly home to various white sand beaches, crystal clear water, surfing activities, and dramatic cliffs. Besides this, it is famous among the visitors for swimming, relaxing, and just soaking in, roaming around to explore the local eateries, and much more.

However, do you know the best story about this beach? It lies in its name – the name ‘Melasti’ comes from a sacred Balinese Hindu ritual, where people just sit in silence and purify themselves from the negative energies around.

No wonder this beach is extremely famous for just sitting around!!

8. Uluwatu Beach

Uluwatu Beach is the home place of the Uluwatu Bali, famous for its breathtaking views, shift in the sky around the golden hour, and the most fascinating sea cave to reach the beautiful white-sand beaches.

As the name hints at, it is an underrated surf spot in South Bali, surrounded by lush green scenic views that almost overlook the fact that it is the tiniest beach in South Bali.

Visitors can access this beach by following a steep path, going through a bat-filled cave (I know what you are thinking, but just wait for the view), and finally, a small staircase that leads directly to the best spot for the view.

It is currently a hidden gem with very few tourists, offering a private and wholesome experience. So, make sure to explore this on your next visit before it goes viral and gets overcrowded.

You’ve made it till here, that means you already know – Uluwatu is one of Bali’s most popular destinations, especially renowned as a surfing destination in the world.

So, Uluwatu beaches would be my first pitch to all those looking for a complete reset after prolonged periods of stress. There are, however, a few things to note before visiting Uluwatu, Bali, like: 

1. Best Time to Visit: Assuming it is a tropical island, people think it is safe to visit Uluwatu throughout the year; however, this is not true. The best time to visit the Uluwatu beaches is during the dry months of late April to September. 

2. Getting to the Beach Takes Effort: Uluwatu has some of the beaches with the most incredible views, surrounded by cliffs. It takes steep walking and short rides downwards to reap this reward. 

3. Surfers Should Claim the Shoulder Season: Most beaches in Uluwatu are ideal for surfing during the high tides, meaning late September to early October is the best time to brawl with the waves. 

4. Carry Cash: Some beaches might only accept the entry fees in cash, leaving you stuck. Avoid this by carrying a sufficient amount of money everywhere while exploring areas away from the main city.
